Machinist​/programmer

SALARY- £35,000- £50,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

My client works within the engineering manufacturing sector, and they are looking to take on a CNC Machinist, on a permanent basis, in the Stoke area.

The CNC / Machinist will ideally have the following attributes:

Time served Engineer (NVQ/ Apprenticeship/ City & Guilds qualification ideally)
Ideally 2 years’ experience or more in a similar engineering manufacturing / machine shop environment

Experience of working with CNC, milling, turning or manual grinding

Experience of working with Fusion
360 programming or 5 axis machining would be desirable
Be able to work with MS Office
Good communication skills
Have the ability to read/ interpret engineering drawings
The ability to work well alone as well as part of a team

The CNC / Machinist role will involve:

Being responsible for the machining of one off engineering components
Working to the right standards and specifications
Interpreting engineering drawings
Writing CNC machining programs (turning/ milling/ grinding)
Helping to train apprentices or less experience team members
Assisting with other general manufacturing activities
Helping to drive the companies Continuous Improvement program
Maintaining high standards

Must have a Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship Level 3 to C7G or NVQ Level 3
CNC or manual grinding experience  (must be universal or similar if manual) or CNC milling/turning with some grinding experience
