The Account Manager will take ownership of driving Wardles sales performance — with a core focus on FP10 growth — across an assigned customer base and wider Bestway Group accounts. This role moves beyond day-to-day telesales activity into strategic account leadership, setting the sales plan, shaping how we win business, and ensuring Wardles is represented confidently and commercially across the group.
The postholder will act as the face of Wardles, building strong customer and internal relationships, identifying opportunities, and ensuring our value proposition is clearly understood and utilised.
- Lead and drive Wardles sales performance, with a core focus on FP10 growth.
- Review general and customer sales/margin performance, identify trends, and recommend actions to improve results.
- Develop and deliver the Wardles sales plan inc. prospects, growth and retention, setting priorities, activity, and timelines.
- Produce weekly and monthly updates on sales performance, working with Wardles team to ensure data accuracy.
- Work closely with x1 WKAM colleague to consistently hit KPIs.
- Develop and lead structured telephone/Teams engagement to grow and retain an assigned customer base.
- Act as the “owner” of each account, ensuring customers clearly understand the Wardles/DAC proposition.
- Identify new business opportunities and secure access to key decision-makers.
- Support key accounts across the Bestway Group through regular in-person visits (up to two days per week).
- Maintain accurate customer records (aim is that this will feed into a CRM).
- Liaise with internal teams (buying, finance, operations, CS) to resolve queries and improve the customer experience.
- Ensure all activity is compliant, efficient, and aligned with Wardles processes and SLAs.
- Support Wardles managers with customer feedback to support the improvement of the general customer experience.
- Engage with projects from a sales perspective when requested.
- Spend up to two days per week F2F with priority customer groups and key accounts across the wider Bestway estate.
- Support internal stores, independent pharmacies and field colleagues in understanding the FP10 benefits, customer process, and how Wardles improves pharmacy profitability.
- Build relationships with key internal teams to ensure Wardles is championed consistently across the group.
Experience in the healthcare/pharmacy sector is desirable but by no means essential. The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience with in account management, telesales or pharmacy/healthcare sales, with proven ability to grow and retain accounts.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, able to deliver complex propositions confidently.
- Highly self-motivated, resilient, target-driven and able to work autonomously as well as within a small team.
- Flexible and adaptable, able to manage multiple priorities and balance office-based and field-based work.
Proficient with MS Office, Excel and CRM tools, with strong organisation and time-management skills.
