Mazco Recruitment is partnering with a leading precision engineering and aerospace manufacturer in Dursley to recruit an experienced Quality Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward‑thinking team known for high‑precision components, continuous improvement, and strong engineering culture.
As the Quality Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving quality standards, supporting internal teams, and ensuring full compliance with customer and aerospace requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Documentation Review & Development
- Review and approve work instructions and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Support documentation updates in line with quality standards.
- Product Testing & Compliance
- Coordinate and conduct product testing to meet Aerospace standards and specifications.
- Measurement & Calibration
- Assist in managing calibration for all inspection, measuring, and test equipment (M&TE), ensuring full accuracy and traceability.
- Inspection & Reporting
- Perform a range of inspection activities using hand tools and precision instruments.
- Create detailed inspection sheets and balloon drawings to define inspection criteria.
- Quality Reporting & Submissions
- Prepare and manage FAIRs (First Article Inspection Reports) to validate product conformity.
- Auditing & QMS Compliance
- Lead and support internal and external audits to maintain ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards.
- Training & Development
- Support the training of personnel on quality procedures and best practices.
- Proven experience in a Quality Engineer or Quality Inspector role within manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of QMS methodologies.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Experience producing inspection sheets and balloon drawings.
- Solid metrology knowledge and calibration system management.
- Strong communication skills, especially for auditing and training.
- CMM experience (MCOSMOS software beneficial).
- Aerospace or other high‑precision manufacturing experience.
- Knowledge of AS9100 or Aerospace customer requirements.
