Position: CAD Designer – Highways and Roads.

Location:

Sudbury, ON, Canada. Full‑time role, expected to begin ASAP.

• Design and draft highway rehabilitation projects using 2D AutoCAD.
• Prepare preliminary and detailed design drawings, including plans, profiles, cross‑sections, geometrics, drainage, utilities, signage, pavement markings, detours, and construction staging.
• Prepare design quantities and cost estimates and provide technical support during tendering and construction.
• Undertake design tasks under the supervision of a project manager or senior team member.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, environmental planners, technologists, and administrative staff.
• Monitor project plans and schedules.
• Participate in meetings with internal staff, subconsultants, and clients.
• Document meeting decisions and follow up on action items.
• Contribute to technical reports and studies.
• Collect and analyze data.
• Commit to self‑development and ongoing professional growth.

• Completion of a Civil Engineering Technician or Technology Diploma.

• 1‑5 years of experience in highway design.
• 1‑5 years of experience using AutoCAD software.
• Effective communication skills with project team members.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
• Proactive and reliable, with a strong ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong technical, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of TAC, OTM, and MTO design procedures and standards.
• Experience with MTO highway designs and standards is an asset.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil3D, Microstation, Open Roads Designer, or InRoads software is an asset.
• Field and construction inspection experience is an asset.
• OACETT Certification (C.Tech or C.E.T.) is an asset.
