Overview

Newly qualified Employment Lawyer – Suffolk. Our client is a Legal 500 and Chambers recommended firm, regarded as one of East Anglia’s leading law firms. The firm offers a broad range of legal services to individuals and companies, nationally and internationally, and is consistently ranked highly for client service.

They now wish to recruit a newly or recently qualified Employment Lawyer. Ideally, candidates should have had exposure to a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment work during their training and/or in their current role, including experience dealing with:

  • Employment Tribunal cases, including drafting pleadings and correspondence
  • Reviewing and drafting employment contracts, service agreements, settlement agreements, and policies
  • Advising on day-to-day HR and employment law matters

The Employment team carries out a high calibre of work and has been credited as one of the best in the region. Working with both companies and individuals, the team handles a vast range of matters locally and nationally and prides itself on building strong relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Manage own caseload and assist others in the team
  • Manage own financial housekeeping
  • Conduct meetings with clients both face to face and remotely
  • Assess legal issues and advise accordingly; conduct legal research; advise on costs and scope of work
  • Draft documents and letters of advice
  • Keep up to date with law and practice
  • Have excellent communication and teamwork skills
Qualifications
  • Newly qualified or recently qualified Employment Lawyer
  • Exposure to a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment work
  • Experience with Employment Tribunal cases and drafting pleadings
  • Experience reviewing and drafting employment contracts, service agreements, settlement agreements, and policies
  • Ability to advise on day-to-day HR and employment law matters
