About the Company

Our client is a long‑established specialist engineering business with a global reputation for service excellence. They design and manufacture advanced equipment used in research and medical laboratory environments worldwide. With a friendly, supportive team and a strong commitment to quality, they are now looking to expand their field service capability.

The Opportunity

They are seeking a highly organised and experienced Field Service Engineer to support customers across the South of the UK, with occasional travel to the North when required. You will carry out servicing, repairs, installations, preventative maintenance, calibration and customer training on specialist laboratory equipment. This position suits someone who is confident working independently, able to manage their own schedule, and comfortable travelling regularly.

Full product training will be provided; however, previous experience in a similar field‑based engineering role is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and complete customer site visits across the region
  • Diagnose faults and repair laboratory equipment
  • Carry out equipment surveys and installations
  • Deliver customer and distributor training (on site and in‑house)
  • Perform routine servicing, preventative maintenance and calibration
  • Respond to customer calls and emails professionally and promptly
  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation
Skills & Experience
  • Engineering or technical background
  • Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic abilities
  • Experience supporting technical, laboratory or medical equipment (desirable)
  • Good understanding of IT infrastructure
  • Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written
  • Strong customer focus and professional approach
  • Full, clean UK/EU driving licence
  • Based in the South‑East or willing to travel extensively
  • Flexible approach to working hours and locations
