Maintenance Engineer

Overview

STEM recruitment solutions have a superb opportunity for a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer for their highly acclaimed client based in the Sunderland area.

The position involves providing support to the manufacturing business covering a full range of Mechanical (and basic electrical) maintenance to all of the site's equipment and facility. You will perform a schedule of planned preventative maintenance in order to minimise downtime and be on hand to deal with breakdown in a quick and efficient manner so that production can resume very quickly.

• Emergency breakdown maintenance
• Completing a schedule of planned preventive maintenance
• Working on engineering projects
• Logging all records and completing documentation
• Performing continuous improvement activities
• Operating to health and safety standards
• Complying with quality and industry standards
• Working on motors, gearboxes and pumps

The shift pattern is a continental shift where you work 2 x 12 hour dayshifts, followed by 2 x 12 hour night shifts and then have 4 days off. This schedule is then repeated.

The role requires someone who can work both mechanical and electrical maintenance so you should be comfortable with basic electrical work.

The job involves working across several departments, building good working relationships with colleagues and also dealing with external contractors where required.
