We are looking for an experienced Senior Product Development Manager to lead and manage end-to-end product development activities within the Research & Development function. This role is responsible for driving innovation, overseeing the full product lifecycle, and ensuring product strategies are aligned with business objectives in the cigarette industry.
The position is based in Surabaya and will lead a multidisciplinary team while working closely with cross‑functional and international stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute product development strategies and innovation roadmaps aligned with business goals.
- Oversee the full product lifecycle from ideation, design, prototyping, testing, technology transfer, to commercialization.
- Identify emerging technologies, market trends, and sustainability opportunities within the cigarette industry.
- Drive continuous improvement in product design, development processes, and lifecycle management.
- Lead cross‑functional collaboration with Operations, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and external technical partners.
- Manage CAPEX budgets, project timelines, and resource allocation to ensure on‑time and on‑budget delivery.
- Lead, mentor, and develop product development teams, fostering a strong innovation and performance culture.
- Represent the organization in industry forums, technical discussions, and innovation networks when required.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in tobacco / cigarette product development
. - Must come from a cigarette manufacturing company, such as multinational or leading local players.
- Strong experience in product lifecycle management, including stage‑gate processes.
- Deep technical knowledge in product technologies, thermal profile analysis, aerosol chemistry, and additive behavior.
- Proven leadership experience managing teams and complex stakeholders.
- Strong strategic thinking, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Proven experience working in a global or multicultural environment.
- Fluent in English is mandatory.
