The Opportunity

As a Support Software Engineer on our team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our critical billing and invoicing systems
. This role is specifically designed for an individual with a strong background in high‑level technical support (e.g. Tier 3, Tier 4) particularly in supporting customer billing and financial operations
. We are seeking candidates who are looking to transition from a support‑focused role into a full‑time software engineering position.

You will troubleshoot complex billing discrepancies, debug data‑intensive financial processes, and analyze how billing systems interact with other business platforms. The ideal candidate will have practical experience using scripting languages like Python or Go and querying both SQL and No

SQL
databases to investigate and resolve complex issues.

This position offers a formal path to apply your deep understanding of complex business processes and core financial operations to a development role. You will shift your focus from reactively fixing billing issues to proactively designing, building, and streamlining the systems that prevent them.

Responsibilities
  • Improve system observability. Use your troubleshooting skills to improve observability, enhancing our monitoring, logging, and alerting.
  • Automate manual processes and reduce operational toil, turning your support knowledge into permanent solutions.
  • Collaborate and problem‑solve. Engage with business stakeholders (especially finance and operations) to understand their needs, identify inefficiencies in current billing and invoicing processes, and propose and lead technical solutions.
  • Review code. Participate in code reviews, mentor junior engineers on best practices for code quality and maintainability.
  • Improve codebase health. Dedicate time to housekeeping and guide efforts to improve code health.
  • Provide feedback and technical guidance. Offer technical leadership and mentorship, helping the team plan and discuss upcoming work.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years in a high‑level technical support role (Tier 3, Tier 4, Business Systems Analyst, Production Support) with a strong focus on customer billing, invoicing, or financial systems.
  • Proven, advanced troubleshooting skills. Comfortable investigating data discrepancies, reading logs for financial jobs, and debugging complex business processes.
  • 1+ years of software development experience.
  • Solid understanding of programming languages. Experience with Go and Python is ideal; other languages are a plus.
  • Solid understanding of databases. Experience querying relational (SQL) and non‑relational (No

    SQL) databases.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, able to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Self‑organized, goal‑oriented, and self‑motivated.
  • Ability to operate flexibly in a fast‑paced, constantly evolving team environment.
Bonus Points
  • Experience with business systems such as Oracle Net Suite, Deal Hub and Salesforce.
  • Experience with business processing tools like Workato and Fivetran.
  • Experience developing solutions in the Cloud or using Cloud services.
Benefits
  • Unlimited Vacation
  • Flexible Working Options
  • Health Insurance
  • Employee Stock Option Plan
  • Professional Development Stipend
