Accountant; QuickBooks

Position: Accountant (Quick Books + Payments)
About Us
We are a growing company expanding our operations in Canada and the United States. With many of our accounting processes already automated, we’re looking for a highly detail-oriented and tech-savvy Accountant to support financial operations, manage reconciliations, and handle the more complex accounting and tax matters our systems cannot automate.

✨ Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day bookkeeping in Quick Books
Oversee  accounts receivable and accounts payable , including  preparing and scheduling payments
Handle reconciliation of bank, credit card, and payment accounts
Manage edge cases and exceptions not covered by our automated systems
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Support Canadian tax compliance (GST/HST, payroll remittances, year-end filing)
Assist with U.S. tax-related tasks as we expand into the U.S.
Maintain accurate classification of transactions and general ledger records
Identify and suggest improvements to financial workflows and automation logic

Requirements
Strong knowledge of Quick Books  (mandatory)

Experience with  payments, billing, invoicing, reconciliations , and financial tracking
Comfortable with technology and working in a highly automated environment
Ability to troubleshoot accounting discrepancies and handle non-standard cases
Knowledge of  Canadian tax  processes preferred
Familiarity with  U.S. tax  is an asset
Extremely detail-oriented  with strong analytical and organizational skills
Excellent communication and ability to work independently
Prior bookkeeping or accounting experience (small business/startup experience is a plus)

Nice-to-Have Skills
Cross-border tax knowledge (Canada/USA)
Experience optimizing accounting automations or workflows
Familiarity with payment platforms and financial reporting tools
