Qualifications And Knowledge
  • University degree or a professional qualification in accounting and finance.
  • At least 5 years of experience in accounting and finance with 2 years of senior level experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in construction environment.
  • Attention to detail and analysis skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills with data management in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong problem solving, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in advanced features of Quick Books Online.
  • Experience in ADP system for payroll is an added advantage.
  • Full cycle accounting experience.
  • Excellent collaboration, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized with an eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Able to break down problems into meaningful parts and come to rational and well‑thought‑out conclusions.
  • Reliable work ethic with a pleasant attitude.
  • Internally motivated to seek out answers, generate ideas, and develop new skills.
  • CPA accounting designation as an asset.
Job Responsibilities
  • Ensuring accuracy and completeness of accounting records.
  • Overseeing the accounts payable function.
  • Preparing and sending the monthly billing to clients.
  • Managing human resources and payroll functions including bi‑weekly payroll, onboarding new employees, processing terminations as per regulations, and managing employee benefits.
  • Managing finance and administrative processes of the construction management software.
  • Presenting monthly cash flow forecast and operational results to senior management.
  • Preparing and submitting monthly, quarterly, and annual tax and regulatory returns at both provincial and federal levels.
  • Overseeing the monthly project budget preparation process.
  • Producing ad‑hoc reports required by project managers and senior management.
  • Managing procurement for the office.
  • Liaising with the external accountant for review engagement and annual income tax filing.
  • Coordinating IT needs and communicating with the external IT service provider.
