On behalf of our client, Match Box Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Bridge Superintendent to lead the field execution of large-scale bridge and structural infrastructure projects across the Lower Mainland and surrounding regions. This role is responsible for site leadership, safety, schedule, quality, and coordination on technically complex projects delivered in active public environments.

This opportunity is best suited for a superintendent who thrives on challenging bridge construction, tight schedules, traffic staging, and collaboration with experienced project teams.

Key Responsibilities

Field Leadership

  • Lead all on-site construction activities for bridge projects from mobilization through completion

  • Supervise foremen, union crews, subcontractors, and suppliers

  • Drive daily execution, work planning, and crew coordination

  • Maintain high standards for safety, quality, and productivity

Planning & Schedule Control

  • Develop and manage 2-week and 6-week look-ahead schedules

  • Coordinate sequencing for foundations, substructures, superstructures, concrete pours, girder erection, and deck placements

  • Identify schedule risks early and implement recovery strategies

Safety & Public Interface

  • Enforce company safety standards and site-specific safety plans

  • Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and site orientations

  • Manage work in active traffic zones and public corridors

  • Ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC, traffic management, and environmental requirements

Quality & Technical Execution

  • Ensure construction meets drawings, specifications, and inspection requirements

  • Coordinate with inspectors, engineers, and testing agencies

  • Manage deficiencies, NCRs, and rework efficiently

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Work closely with Project Managers and engineers on progress, cost, and risk

  • Coordinate with owners, consultants, inspectors, and municipal authorities

  • Prepare accurate daily reports, manpower tracking, and progress updates

Required Experience & Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in heavy civil construction

  • Demonstrated experience as a Superintendent or Lead Foreman on bridge projects

  • Strong working knowledge of:

    • Cast-in-place and precast concrete structures

    • Structural steel erection

    • Formwork, falsework, shoring, and temporary works

    • Traffic staging and public safety requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

  • Strong leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills

  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred Experience
  • Experience on major highway bridges, overpasses, or complex staged bridge projects

  • Familiarity working in a unionized environment

  • Experience delivering projects for public-sector owners

  • Proficiency with construction software (Procore, P6, or similar)

  • Safety certifications (OFA, CSTS, WHMIS, or equivalent)
