Field Engineer Co-op

Overview

Field Engineer Co‑op (8 months) – Junior Field Coordinator Co‑op to join the Surrey Langley Skytrain Project in Surrey, BC.

• Ensure compliance with construction design standards, plans, and specifications.
• Monitor budget and project performance.
• Prepare work breakdown structures, quantity takeoffs, and requests for quotes.
• Participate in preliminary and final cost estimates.
• Prepare reports and sketches related to the scope of work in accordance with British Columbia standards.
• Track progress billing, cost reports, inventory, and quantity tracking.
• Assist in performance monitoring for ongoing operations.
• Support project engineering staff and maintain project schedules.
• Provide monthly and weekly progress reporting for client submissions.
• Provide daily and weekly cost tracking and analysis.
• Maintain relationships with clients to define their needs and explain technical information, concepts, or study results.
• Assist the project manager and construction team when help is needed.
• Perform all other related tasks that will help complete the project.

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Civil Engineering or a related program.
• Enrolled in an official co‑op program.
• Experience in construction and civil engineering is an asset.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to take initiative.
• Attention to detail.
• Team‑player.

CAD $22.00/Hr – CAD $24.00/Hr.

Primary work location is the Project office with some field work involved.
