Job Summary
The Fraser Health Nephrology group is looking for a 0.5-1.0 FTE Clinical Nephrologist. We provide coverage across all of Fraser Health in outpatient clinics, dialysis units and inpatient services. The successful candidate will be part of the Nephrology group practice and will provide services as determined by the needs to the clinical group. This will involve providing coverage for the inpatient service, maintaining an outpatient practice, and covering the dialysis units as determined by the group’s arrangements to ensure appropriate coverage.
The clinical work will be centered at Surrey Memorial Hospital and be at least a 0.5 FTE initially with the opportunity to become a full FTE if desired. The successful applicant will also provide clinical service at other sites depending on group need. This position will also provide call for sites in the Fraser Health region with an overall average call frequency of no more than 1 in 5.

This position offers the opportunity to practice in all areas of nephrology including being part of a strong PD program, multiple HD units, Chronic Kidney disease clinics and transplant care. The candidate will also be expected to be involved in teaching in Nephrology. There will be an expectation to provide clinical leadership in at least one of the program areas.
QualificationsThe candidate must be Royal College Certified in Nephrology. He/she must demonstrate evidence of sufficient clinical experience in all areas of nephrology including peritoneal dialysis, hemodialysis, chronic kidney disease management and inpatient care. The candidate must be proficient in basic procedural skills such as hemodialysis line insertions. Experience and demonstrated skills in leadership, medical administration, research or teaching will be considered an asset.
