Westland Insurance Group Ltd has an exciting full‑time opportunity for an User Experience Designer to join our Business Technology Enablement Office team in Surrey, BC at our head office.

Expected Compensation: The expected hiring range for this role is $48,000 to $60,000 based on a 35‑hour work week. Actual offered salary will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, as well as market conditions for the role, and internal equity.

The User Experience (UX) Designer is a strategic partner in delivering seamless, user‑centered digital experiences for employees and brokers s role is responsible for designing and optimizing digital workflows, championing the design system, and collaborating across business units to ensure technology solutions drive business outcomes and user satisfaction.

Why we’ll love You:
  • A certificate or degree in UX Design, Human‑Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Information Technology, or related field. Industry certifications are an asset
  • Proficiency in design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD) is required and familiarity with Acturis BMS and CRM systems is
  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining and evolving a corporate design system
  • Strong portfolio showcasing digital product design in a corporate or enterprise environment
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities; able to work independently and in multi‑disciplinary teams
  • Experience with business enablement and technology integration projects is valuable
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards, AI, machine learning, and project management methodologies is an asset
Once here, you’ll:
  • Intake and prioritization: Manage requests for new digital experiences and improvements. Engage stakeholders to understand business needs, pain points, and strategic goals. Frame design opportunities with clear scope, impact, and strategic alignment to support prioritization and accountability
  • User research & insights: Conduct user interviews, surveys, and usability testing to understand user needs, pain points, and behaviors. Facilitate workshops and design sprints to gather insights and co‑create solutions
  • Experience design: Design wireframes, prototypes, and user flows for new and existing digital products. Ensure solutions are accessible, visually appealing, and aligned with business objectives
