The salary range for this position is CAD $41.42 - $59.52 / hour
Job SummaryThis is an exciting NICU training opportunity at Surrey Memorial Hospital in Surrey, BC. Fraser Health offers specialty nursing education sponsorship to new applicants, including new graduate nurses, or currently registered nurses as part of our ongoing shared responsibility for professional development and safe, competent, ethical care. Sponsorship for the Specialty Nursing education includes:
- Tuition for required courses
- Wages during the full time studies portion
- Mandatory days
The Neonatal program is 23 weeks long and consists of 12 weeks of online studies and 11 weeks of full-time studies, which include classroom days and clinical placements. This program is offered in 3 intakes a year (Spring, Fall and Winter) through BCIT.
Candidates accepting this training opportunity agree to remain with Fraser Health in NICU for at least 18 months subsequent to completing training. Detailed OverviewIn accordance with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) standards of practice and the Mission and Values of Fraser Health, and working collaboratively with the interprofessional care team in the provision of person-centered care, the Registered Nurse provides direct patient care by assessing, planning, providing and evaluating nursing care to patients.
The purpose of this position is to provide qualified registered nurses the opportunity to consolidate their skills by rotating through a specialty nursing unit(s) prior to and/or during the undertaking of post graduate course work applicable to the relevant specialty nursing unit(s). As such, successful applicants will be expected to participate in and successfully complete the applicable post graduate specialty nursing courses/program within the agreed-to time frames.
