We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a consultancy team supporting Gatwick Airport's civil engineering programmes. This is a client-side/consultancy role, providing commercial oversight, cost management, and NEC contract administration on a high-profile airfield infrastructure programme.
You will be seconded into Gatwick, working closely with the client and project teams to ensure civil works are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. The role offers exposure to airfield and highway infrastructure projects, including runway works, and is ideal for a civils-focused QS who thrives in a client advisory or project management environment.

The Role
As the client-side Quantity Surveyor, your focus will be on commercial governance, contract administration, and providing expert advice to the client team. You will play a key role in ensuring value for money, managing risk, and supporting successful project delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

· Administering NEC contracts and providing guidance on compensation events, variations, and claims

· Reviewing and assessing contractor submissions, valuations, and change proposals

· Preparing cost reports, forecasts, and financial analyses for the client

· Advising on commercial strategy and risk mitigation

· Liaising with contractors, internal teams, and client stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery

· Monitoring project expenditure and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations

· Supporting decision-making through accurate and timely commercial reporting

About You
We're seeking a civil engineering Quantity Surveyor with consultancy or client-side experience and a strong NEC background, ideally with exposure to airfield or highway infrastructure works.

· Proven experience with NEC3/NEC4 contracts

· Civil engineering experience, ideally airfield/highways/runway projects

· Strong analytical, commercial, and negotiation skills

· Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

· Experience working in a consultancy or client-side advisory role

· Relevant QS qualification (degree or equivalent)
