Cook Supervisor (East Sussex Academy)

East Sussex Academy is the newly commissioned Alternative Provision for pupils who have been permanently excluded from school or are at high risk of permanent exclusion. The position is based at the Newhaven site.

We are looking for a Cook Supervisor to join our school for pupils aged 11-16. The role involves preparing and cooking meals, overseeing catering operations, ensuring food safety and hygiene, and supporting pupils in a positive, calm and caring environment.

• Prepare & cook meals for pupils and staff.
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards.
• Support pupils in the kitchen as part of their learning experience.
• Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and other staff members.
• Keep accurate records of food waste, menu planning and inventory.

• Passion for catering and strong culinary skills.
• Highly motivated, team‑player and good organisational skills.
• Committed to engaging with pupils in a positive, calm and caring way.
• Ability to work part‑time (20 hours a week) – 4 hours per day.

Hours of work: 20 hours per week (4 hours per day). Position is part‑time, term‑time only. Salary pro‑rata.
