Are you a hands‑on Caretaker seeking a stable role on a welcoming school site from January 2026? A popular primary school in Sutton is recruiting a dedicated Caretaker to join the facilities team. The Caretaker will start January 2026 with induction and handover arranged prior to January 2026 to ensure a smooth transition.

The Sutton Caretaker will be responsible for the security, cleanliness and upkeep of the site: daily opening and closing, routine maintenance, minor repairs, and management of external areas and waste. The role also includes supervising contractors, maintaining logbooks and supporting school events and lettings across the Sutton campus. The successful Caretaker will bring a practical mindset, good communication skills, and the ability to prioritise to the role.

• Open / secure the site each day and complete routine safety inspections.
• Carry out minor repairs, maintenance tasks and report issues that require specialist attention.
• Maintain grounds, clear pathways and ensure safe access during all weather conditions.
• Support evening lettings and school events including room setups and contractor liaison.
• Keep accurate records of daily checks, maintenance work and health & safety documentation.

• Proven experience in caretaking premises or facilities roles with practical maintenance skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and maintain H&S records.
• Flexible availability, reliable and ready to commence January 2026 with attendance at induction before January 2026.
