Junior PLC Programmer

37.5 hours | Flexible Start/Finish | 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays

A rapidly growing and well-established automotive manufacturer is looking to hire a Junior PLC Programmer to join their busy engineering and automation team.

This role offers genuine career progression, hands-on technical development and the opportunity to eventually take ownership of PLC programming projects as senior team members retire and the business continues to scale.

The Role

You’ll work closely with experienced automation and controls engineers to:

* Support the programming, modification and optimisation of PLC-controlled machinery on site

* Assist with commissioning, troubleshooting and improving production processes

* Learn and develop in ABB Rapid (no prior Rapid experience needed – full training provided)

* Ensure machinery and automated systems run efficiently, safely and reliably

* Work hands-on at the heart of the manufacturing environment, supporting continuous improvements

What We’re Looking For

* 1–3 years’ PLC programming experience (any language considered – Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff, Mitsubishi, Omron, ABB etc.)

* Ideally 1+ year in an industrial or manufacturing environment

* Able to support machine programming, installation, configuration and fault finding

* Keen to learn, progress and eventually step into a more lead-oriented role

* Comfortable working on site and close to the shop floor (this is not a remote role)
