Job Description & How to Apply Below
Some senior finance opportunities are about fixing a broken company.
This isn't one of them.
We are a healthy, profitable, established manufacturing company with more than 40 years of history, approximately $30 million in annual revenue, and a clear goal to reach $50 million over the next five years.
The foundation is strong. The company is growing. The leadership team has evolved. Now, we are ready to transform how finance supports the business.
We are seeking a Vice President of Finance / Head of Finance to serve as the company's senior financial executive, report directly to the CEO, and take ownership of the entire finance function.
This is an opportunity for a highly analytical, operationally minded finance leader to step into an organization that is big enough to offer meaningful complexity, but not so institutionalized that everything has already been built.
If you are energized by the idea of creating, improving, influencing, getting into the details, and helping an ambitious manufacturing company scale, we should talk.
Why This Role, and Why Now?Over the past several years, we have made significant investments in our leadership team, operations, sales, marketing, and product strategy.
The business has become larger and more complex. Our leaders are bringing new ideas, identifying opportunities, and asking increasingly sophisticated questions about where and how we invest.
Finance now needs to evolve alongside the organization.
Our accounting foundation is strong. We have established processes, reliable financial reporting, and a long-tenured Vice President of Finance who has spent more than a decade building the financial infrastructure that supports the company today.
What we need next is a senior finance leader who can preserve that foundation while building a more sophisticated finance and FP&A capability around it.
We want greater visibility into questions such as:
What is driving our margins and profitability by product, customer, and sales channel?
Where are we making the greatest returns on our investments?
Where may money be leaking from the business?
How effectively are we managing cash, inventory, and working capital?
What can we afford to do, and where should we prioritize our resources?
How do we give department leaders meaningful budgets and appropriate financial guardrails?
Which KPIs and early indicators will tell us when something is moving off track?
How should we evaluate capital expenditures and other significant investments?
How can we use data, technology, and financial insight to make better decisions faster?
We don't need someone to simply tell us what happened last month.
We want someone who can help us understand why it happened, what it means, and what we should do next.
What You'll OwnAs VP of Finance / Head of Finance, you will report directly to the CEO, serve as the company's senior financial executive, and become a key member of the leadership team.
You will own the finance function while helping build the capabilities needed to support the company's next stage of growth.
Your responsibilities and impact will include:
Leading FP&A, including annual budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and ongoing performance analysis.
Developing deeper visibility into product, customer, and channel profitability.
Strengthening manufacturing finance and cost accounting capabilities.
Analyzing margins, cost drivers, pricing, and operational performance to identify opportunities for improved profitability.
Managing and forecasting cash flow and working-capital requirements.
Developing stronger analysis around inventory levels, inventory investment, turns, and related financial impacts.
Building meaningful financial dashboards, KPIs, and management…
