Job DescriptionThe Senior Document Controller is responsible for managing, organising, and maintaining all project-related documentation to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with company and regulatory standards. This role oversees document control processes, coordinates document flow between internal teams and external stakeholders, and ensures timely retrieval and distribution of controlled documents. The Senior Document Controller also mentors junior staff, enforces document control procedures, and supports audits, reporting, and project handover requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the creation, revision, tracking, and archiving of project documents.
- Maintain document control systems and ensure adherence to established standards.
- Coordinate document submissions, approvals, and distribution across departments and contractors.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure documents are complete, accurate, and compliant.
- Manage controlled document registers, logs, and workflows.
- Provide guidance and support to junior document controllers.
- Prepare reports and assist during audits and project closeout.
- Extensive experience in document control within engineering, construction, or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of document management systems (e.g., Aconex, EDMS, SharePoint).
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and stakeholder coordination abilities.
