Site Manager – Utility‑Scale Solar PV

Salary: £50,000 - £75,000 depending on experience
Unify HQ is supporting a major renewable energy developer in the appointment of an experienced Site Manager to initially oversee delivery of an 52MW Solar PV project in the Swansea region and following this, be open to working away from home at various sites around the UK. This is a long‑term Temp to Perm role suited to someone confident running a busy construction site, coordinating multiple contractors, and ensuring works progress safely, efficiently, and to specification.
The Role
You will take ownership of day‑to‑day site operations, ensuring installation activities are delivered to programme, quality standards, and HSE requirements. Working closely with EPC and ICP partners, you’ll maintain strong communication with the client project team and keep all stakeholders aligned throughout the build.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain full compliance with all quality, safety, and environmental standards across the site
* Coordinate EPC and ICP contractors, ensuring clear communication and efficient workflow
* Oversee day‑to‑day site operations and manage all construction activities
* Review and control RAMS, method statements, permits, and all relevant site documentation
* Track progress against programme and provide clear updates to the project team
* Support energisation, handover, and final completion activities
Requirements
* Demonstrable experience managing utility‑scale Solar PV projects of 20MW+
* Strong track record in contractor and subcontractor coordination
* SMSTS (or equivalent safety qualification) highly desirable
* Solid understanding of MV works, cable installation, and solar construction sequencing
* Confident delivering on‑site leadership, progress reporting, and effective problem‑solving
