Site Manager

A leading Tier 1 main contractor, recognised for delivering high-quality projects across education, healthcare, commercial and public-sector infrastructure, is seeking an experienced Site Manager to join the team on a £7m new-build school project.

The business has a strong national presence and a long-standing reputation for delivering technically complex projects safely, sustainably and to the highest standards, working closely with public-sector clients and stakeholders.

The Role

As Site Manager, you will take day-to-day responsibility for the safe and efficient delivery of a live education project, managing site operations from early works through to handover. You will work closely with the Project Manager and commercial team, ensuring programme, quality and health & safety targets are consistently achieved.

This is a hands-on role suited to a proactive Site Manager with previous school or education-sector experience and the ability to manage multiple trades in a live or sensitive environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Full site management of a new-build school project

* Maintaining the highest standards of Health & Safety, quality and environmental compliance

* Managing subcontractors, site teams and logistics

* Driving the programme and coordinating trades to meet key milestones

* Ensuring works are delivered in line with drawings, specifications and client requirements

* Chairing site meetings and liaising with consultants and stakeholders

* Managing site records, inspections and handover documentation

* Promoting a collaborative and professional site culture

Requirements

* Proven experience as a Site Manager on education or public-sector projects

* SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid (essential)

* Strong knowledge of construction methodology and sequencing

* Ability to work within a live or operational environment

* Excellent communication and organisational skills

* Commitment to quality, safety and programme delivery
