Freelance Intermediate​/Senior Quantity Surveyor

Position: Freelance Intermediate / Senior Quantity Surveyor
Future Build Recruitment are working with a well-established civil engineering specialist who is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their commercial team. A strong civils background is essential, and experience in the water utilities sector is highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

* Take full commercial responsibility for allocated projects, including monthly reporting.

* Manage and mentor junior commercial team members.

* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and the supply chain, including standard rate agreements.

* Prepare and submit accurate valuations, supported by site visits where required.

* Follow up on payments, keeping senior management informed of any issues.

* Price and agree project variations with clients and subcontractors, maintaining accurate records.

* Prepare contractual notices and administer subcontract conditions in line with company procedures.

* Ensure timely and fair resolution of client and subcontractor final accounts.

* Maintain organised commercial files, both electronic and hard copy.

* Support pre-construction activities alongside the bid and contracts teams.

About You

* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor in a civils environment.

* Strong knowledge of commercial and contractual management principles.

* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

* Experience in water utilities desirable.

* Ability to manage multiple projects and mentor junior team members effectively
