Mechanical Draftsman/Design Engineer - MOD / Defence Equipment
Swindon, Wiltshire (Hybrid Working, 3 days office, 2 days remote)
Duration – 5 months.
Project – ESF Facility
£35p/hr ltd – Outside IR35
Security Clearance: Must hold or be eligible to obtain entry level security checks (BPSS)
Responsibilities- Produce drawings for parts of equipment including generators and distribution equipment
- Lead and contribute to the mechanical design of systems and supporting structures
- Provide engineering support through prototype build, testing, and qualification phases, resolving design issues and implementing corrective actions.
- Conduct design reviews and configuration management activities in collaboration with Maintenance and Mechanical Engineering teams
- Over 5 years’ experience within design engineering, having completed projects of generators and distribution equipment
- Proficient in AutoCAD and SOLIDWORKS
- Familiarity with MOD standards and Defence Standards relevant to mechanical and power systems.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes for military grade equipment
