The Role

We’re looking for a motivated and driven Insurance Consultant to join our New Business team (Personal Lines) at our Swindon office. Your main focus will be driving growth through new business, maximising opportunities with existing customers, and following up on leads and referrals.

This is an exciting time to join the Jensten Group, and the successful candidate can expect fantastic career progression, training, and development opportunities within the role and the insurance industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work within the New Business team to maximise sales opportunities.
  • Deliver excellent customer service while administering insurance policies.
  • Achieve and exceed realistic sales targets.
  • Communicate clearly and build strong customer relationships.
  • Thrive in a fast‑paced, target‑driven environment.
  • Ensure all work is FCA compliant and maintain the highest standards of customer service.

Please note:

Depending on your skill set, you may initially work in the Renewals or Servicing team to learn our systems before moving into New Business.

About you

As one of our Insurance Consultants, you’ll be given full training & support and the opportunity to go on and gain relevant qualifications such as Cert CII to become a qualified Insurance professional.

There will be a requirement to work every one in four Saturdays‑ but only half a day (and you’ll get this time back during the week), and there’s also the chance to earn good commissions‑ which is uncapped!

We’re looking for someone who has:
  • Experience in Personal Lines insurance (ideal but not essential).
  • Proven sales ability and a track record of generating new business (essential).
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • A confident telephone manner and natural sales flair.
  • Drive and passion to learn and develop within insurance and sales.
  • Previous experience in a similar role (telephone and face‑to‑face sales).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask, including updating systems and handling admin.
Rewards & Benefits

When you join us, you can expect a supportive culture and an attractive range of rewards and benefits which include:

  • Competitive salary with an annual pay review and bonus scheme.
  • Flexibility with Hybrid working options (3 in the office and 2 from home once settled in).
  • 27 days annual leave (includes a birthday day off and another for a religious holiday of your choice) + bank holidays.
  • Auto enrolment into our excellent pension scheme (5% employer matched contribution).
  • Flex‑benefits – a range of flexible benefits to choose from, worth £500 each year (which you can keep as cash).
  • Group Life Assurance cover.
  • 3 months Maternity, Paternity & Adoption leave all fully paid.
  • Professional qualification study support relevant to your role and career.
  • Perks at work – amazing discounts on cinema tickets, meals out, luxury items, etc.
  • Holiday purchase scheme – up to 5 days annually.
About Us

Advance Insurance, established in 1929, is a specialist personal lines insurance broker and part of the Jensten Group. With decades of expertise, we provide tailored cover for niche and non‑standard risks, including motorhomes, modified and imported vehicles, classic cars, and more. Our focus is on delivering expert advice and exceptional customer service, making us a trusted name for customers with unique insurance needs.

Launched in 2018, Jensten is one of the UK's largest independent broking groups. Growing organically and through strategic acquisition we now place over £650m GWP into the market via our retail insurance broking, Lloyd's and London Market broking, and specialist underwriting arms.

We fill the void in the market between a consolidator and a provincial broker. We have the scale, ambition and expertise to stand out, but the people, culture and entrepreneurial DNA to maintain our client focus. Which is why we are not just one of the leading independent broking groups, we are one of the most exciting too.

And that is why you should join us!
