The Senior Manager, EHS, Process Unit Launch Operations (P3) is an integral member of the PU extended leadership team, responsible for providing EHS expertise and foresight. This role ensures EHS compliance for the Process Unit, adherence to global EHS policies and guidance, and alignment with site and global EHS standards. The Senior Manager leads, implements, and continuously improves PU‑related EHS programs, fostering a strong safety culture and supporting operational excellence.

Duties/Responsibilities

EHS Program Management, Leadership, Collaboration & Compliance
  • Integral part of PU extended leadership team, bringing EHS expertise and foresight, ensuring EHS compliance for the PU and adherence to global EHS policies and guidance. Accountable and responsible to ensure direct link is maintained with site EHS team and global cross‑site EHS community.
  • Provide EHS leadership across the PU, collaborating with site EHS and functional teams to ensure comprehensive EHS support is delivered and robust systems in place to effectively manage risk and ensure compliance, while driving continuous improvement and promoting a culture of safety.
  • Ensure alignment and collaboration between site PUs on all relevant EHS topics through joint collaboration between PU EHS functions.
  • PU EHS Program Oversight:
    Lead, implement and improve PU related EHS programs (including global) in alignment with BDY site EHS standards to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Compliance:
    Ensure compliance with environmental and health safety laws, regulations, and standards. Keep updated on, and, apply required and PU relevant emerging regulations and policies to PU processes.
  • Champion specific EHS programs (e.g., LOTO), including policy development, training, incident investigation, and compliance monitoring.
  • FSAP Program:
    Implement relevant FSAP in the PU to ensure compliance with EHS standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Operational Support:
    Contribute to PU EHS related Operations by leading EHS PU operational discussions, committees, and self‑assessments.
  • PU Technical Oversight:
    Provide technical oversight for all EHS PU related programs and activities.
  • Issue Resolution:
    Provide accurate resolution of PU EHS related issues/challenges and elevate as needed.

    Collaboration:

    Collaborate proactively at site and above-site levels.
  • Facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing to accelerate EHS best practices and innovation, across functions and site.
  • PU Customer Interaction:
    Handle PU EHS inquiries and build strong relationships with internal BMS customers.
Incident & Emergency Management
  • Incident Management:
    Identify and address unplanned events like spills and workplace injuries, in line with site, local and BMS requirements.
  • Emergency Team:
    Member of the site’s emergency team and first aiders and PU EHS representative.
  • Recordkeeping and lessons learned: recordkeeping, lessons learned including corrective/preventive action implementation and reporting at various levels.
Risk Management & Safety Culture
  • Plan and carry out regular safety EHS walkthroughs in the PU and report out on findings including actions, mitigations, etc.
