We are looking for Summer Students in Neutron and Muon Sciences. The position is scheduled for 12 December 2025.

The Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) is the largest research institute for natural and engineering sciences within Switzerland. The Center for Neutron and Muon Sciences uses the neutrons and muon produced by PSI’s High Intensity Proton Accelerator (HIPA) to carry out a wide spectrum of research directions ranging from particle physics to solid, liquid, or soft condensed matter science, chemistry, materials science, engineering, and cultural heritage. We are now recruiting summer students to participate in ongoing research projects.

• Duration:
  Typically 8–12 weeks

• Participation in research activities of the center.

• You should have completed three years of full‑time university studies in natural or engineering science disciplines or computing by summer 2026.
• You are expected to obtain your Bachelor’s degree in summer 2026 or are enrolled in a Master’s programme at a university.
• You have not previously been at PSI as a summer student.
• You have a good working knowledge of English and some basic computing skills.

Our institution is based on an interdisciplinary, innovative and dynamic collaboration. For the duration of the internship, you will be part of a research group at PSI, contributing to its research activities through an individual work project. Your stay will be enriched by complementary lectures and activities with other students.
