Job Title: Mountain Bike Instructor
Reports to: Mountain Bike Supervisor / Adventure Operations Manager
Division: Red Sea Sport & Entertainment (RSSE)
Job Grade: SP4
Job Purpose
The Mountain Bike Instructor is a site-based role responsible for delivering safe, engaging, and high-quality mountain biking experiences across designated trails and adventure assets. The role focuses on guiding guests, delivering skills coaching, and ensuring all mountain biking activities are conducted in accordance with safety standards, operational procedures, and RSSE brand values.
The position plays a key role in creating memorable outdoor adventure experiences while promoting environmental stewardship, trail etiquette, and responsible riding within sensitive natural environments.
Job Responsibilities
Instruction & Guiding
- Lead guided mountain biking experiences for guests of varying skill levels, from beginner to advanced.
- Deliver structured skills coaching sessions, including bike handling, trail techniques, and safety awareness.
- Assess guest ability and fitness levels and adapt routes, pace, and instruction accordingly.
- Deliver clear pre ride briefings and post ride debriefs to enhance safety and guest enjoyment.
- Ensure all mountain biking activities comply with approved safety procedures, risk assessments, and SOPs.
- Conduct pre ride equipment checks, including bikes, helmets, and protective gear.
- Monitor trail and weather conditions and make safe go/no go decisions.
- Respond effectively to incidents, providing first aid and escalating emergencies as required.
- Maintain accurate incident and activity records.
Guest Experience & Service Excellence
- Deliver a warm, professional, and engaging guest experience aligned with RSSE standards.
- Act as a brand ambassador, promoting adventure offerings and responsible outdoor practices.
- Handle guest feedback and service recovery professionally and in line with procedures.
Equipment & Trail Care
- Assist with basic bike maintenance, cleaning, and storage.
- Report equipment issues, trail hazards, or maintenance needs promptly.
- Support trail preservation initiatives and promote environmental awareness among guests.
- Adhere to all RSSE and departmental policies, SOPs, and operational guidelines.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including trail enhancements, guest experience innovation, and safety improvements.

Job Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Certified Mountain Bike Instructor or Guide (e.g., PMBIA, MIAS, BICP, or equivalent).
- Minimum 2-4 years of experience guiding or instructing mountain biking activities.
- Strong riding skills across a range of terrain and trail grades.
- First Aid certification (WFA, WAFA, or equivalent).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong safety awareness and risk management capabilities.
- Guest-focused mindset with a professional and positive attitude.
- Ability to work outdoors in challenging environments.
- Physical fitness suitable for leading mountain biking activities.
- Ability to work effectively in multicultural teams.
- Experience in destination-based or adventure tourism environments.
- Knowledge of trail building and maintenance.
