About the Technology Enterprise Resilience Office

This role is part of the Technology Enterprise Resilience team within the Enterprise Resilience function, ensuring the effective implementation and oversight of Critical & Important Business Services, supporting continuous improvement initiatives in line with strategic objectives and regulatory expectations. The role works closely with business and technology partners across the firm globally.

Role Overview

As a Senior Technology Resilience Capability Designer, you will define, enhance, and embed technology resilience across Fidelity’s technology landscape, spanning on-premise, cloud, and SaaS environments. You will be part of a skilled SMEs team dedicated to ensuring technology services are resilient by design and capable of withstanding disruption. The position requires deep technical knowledge and strategic resilience expertise, applying a resilience and risk lens across the full technology stack.

Core

Responsibilities
  • Act as a consultative SME driving embedding of resilient thinking across technology, focusing on regulation, response to events such as ransomware, core technology failures, and third‑party outages.
  • Design and architect resilience solutions aligned with organizational appetite.
  • Work with SMEs to mitigate severe but plausible threats and implement solutions.
  • Collaborate with testing teams to execute resilience testing and controls.
  • Embed resilience in technology using in‑depth technical skills.
  • Engage with technology practitioners to implement designs, test new solutions, and consult with enterprise architects.
  • Iterate technology policies and standards to meet regulatory, customer, and business expectations.
  • Collaborate on data strategy with the resilience data lead to ensure relevant metrics and reporting.
  • Provide leadership on vendor and third‑party technology implementation, ensuring resilience considerations at design and onboarding.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to maintain resilience during disruptions and prevent significant customer harm.
  • Automate testing and data collection to drive continuous improvement.
  • Perform horizon scanning of technology and threat space to prioritise focus areas.
  • Maintain Power BI metrics and dashboards to monitor resilience initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with operational resilience regulations.
  • Implement and improve procedures, data, and tooling across CIBS, aligning with best practices and regulatory needs.
Experience and Qualifications
  • Experience in technology roles with strong grasp of infrastructure, application deployment, cloud (IaaS & SaaS), and monitoring/observability.
  • Excellent understanding of technology resilience practices and approaches for on‑premise, IaaS, and SaaS.
  • Deep knowledge of connectivity, networks, and zero‑trust approaches.
  • Experience with cloud-native application development and designing resilience into the architecture.
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipeline technologies and best practices.
  • Strong engineering awareness and good practices.
  • Experience managing suppliers and third‑party vendors for resilient outcomes.
  • Advanced knowledge of operational resilience regulatory requirements and their technology implications.
  • Understanding of Critical & Important Business Services and technology mapping.
  • Data manipulation skills for decision‑making.
  • Knowledge of FCA, PRA, DORA regulation in resilience context.
  • Awareness of cyber threat landscape and severe but plausible scenarios.
