We are seeking an experienced Interim Registered Manager to lead a residential care home in Stalybridge for an initial 6-month period. This role is ideal for a confident and capable leader who can ensure regulatory compliance, maintain high standards of care, and provide stability during a transitional period. The successful candidate must hold NVQ Level 5 in Health & Social Care and have previous experience as a CQC Registered Manager within a residential care setting.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the Registered Manager with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and ensure ongoing compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Provide strong leadership and day‑to‑day operational management of the care home
- Maintain and improve the quality of care delivered, ensuring person‑centred practices are embedded throughout the service
- Lead, support, and manage staff teams, including supervision, appraisals, and performance management
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed and concerns are appropriately managed
- Oversee staffing levels, rota management, and recruitment where required
- Manage audits, inspections, and action plans, responding effectively to any regulatory feedback
- Maintain accurate records, policies, and procedures in line with legislation and best practice
- Work closely with senior management, external professionals, residents, and families
- NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
- Previously registered with the CQC as a Registered Manager
- Proven experience managing a residential care home
- Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding, and quality frameworks
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Ability to quickly assess services and implement improvements where needed
- Experience working in interim or turnaround roles
- Strong inspection history with CQC
- Competitive salary of £50,000 per annum (pro rata)
