Location: Denton

Maintenance Team Leader – DAYS ONLY

Salary: £47,000 – £49,000 per annum + benefits.

Hours:

8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., 5 working days out of 7 (including weekend work). Hours are negotiable during interview.

Location:

Commutable from Stockport, Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale, Wilmslow, Stretford and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure safe working, produce Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work.
  • Act as the site Authorised Person for the issuance and control of Permitted activities.
  • Assist in managing ongoing engineering maintenance activities.
  • Supervise and co‑coordinate maintenance across the site and off‑site quarry.
  • Identify and suggest improvements to manufacturing and quality processes.
  • Carry out all planned preventive maintenance.
  • Assist with installation of new plant equipment.
  • Promote Lean thinking and actively seek efficiencies.
  • Carry out factory inspections, advise production operatives and other staff as required.
  • Monitor quality from raw material to finished goods.
  • Induct and train new starters.
  • Provide emergency maintenance cover when required.
Requirements
  • Experience in a heavy manufacturing environment (clay, refractory, quarrying, cement) or FMCG.
  • At least one year of leadership experience in a Team Leader or Supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership, communication and motivational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a positive approach.
  • Good exposure to health & safety standards.
  • Good working knowledge of EHS.
  • Strong organisational and planning abilities.
  • Passionate about improvement and knowledge of Lean manufacturing.
  • Analytical, fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience and diagnostics of hydraulic, pneumatic, drive‑chain fault‑finding, bearing fitting/alignment and electrical control systems.
  • Knowledge of cutting and grinding regulations.
  • Maintenance experience and diagnostics of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical control systems.
