Join our warm and dynamic team at Prometheus Psychological Therapy Centre in Taunton. We are a fast‑growing, highly respected psychological therapy clinic seeking compassionate and experienced Affiliate Psychological Therapists to help meet growing client demand. This part‑time role (minimum 4 hours per week) offers the freedom of independent private practice while benefiting from the support of an established team.
About Prometheus Psychological Therapy CentrePrometheus is a well‑regarded clinic known for its personal approach and clinical excellence. Led by an experienced Clinical Psychologist, our multidisciplinary team, including a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist, is expanding at an exciting time of growth and development. We support adults, children, and families across a wide range of mental health needs and provide specialist assessments for neurodevelopmental conditions such as Autism and ADHD.

As an Affiliate Psychological Therapist, you will provide high‑quality therapy to clients (adults and/or children) within your areas of expertise. You’ll work on a self‑employed basis with flexible scheduling, committing a minimum of 4 hours per week or more, according to your availability. This role offers you the autonomy to manage your own caseload while benefiting from referrals generated by our clinic’s strong community reputation.
With a waiting list of clients seeking support, new team members can expect to build a caseload quickly.
- Clinical Psychologists (including those specialising in child & adolescent care)
- Accredited CBT Therapists
- Therapists experienced in neurodevelopmental conditions (Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, etc.)
- At least two years post‑qualification experience (NHS or equivalent preferred)
- Demonstrated clinical expertise in your field of practice
- Willingness to work with either adults or children (or both)
- Active professional registration/accreditation (e.g. HCPC, BABCP, EMDR UK or equivalent)
- Clinical Autonomy: Freedom to set your own fees and manage your caseload as an independent practitioner.

Schedule:
Control over your working hours (minimum commitment of 4 hours/week), allowing you to balance this role with other professional or personal commitments. - Collaboration & Support: Be part of a welcoming team of independent, highly experienced therapists (many with long‑standing NHS and academic careers). You will work alongside a respected multidisciplinary group, where peer support and shared expertise are central to our culture.
