Up to £38k DOE | Full-time, On-site | Taunton

A well-established and growing engineering business based in the South West is looking to expand its workshop team. The organisation designs and builds special purpose machinery for a varied customer base and is recognised for its strong engineering standards, investment in quality, and supportive team culture.

This is a hands‑on opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a busy production environment. The role focuses on the build and assembly of bespoke machinery, working from detailed engineering drawings and contributing directly to the delivery of high‑quality, precision‑engineered equipment.

• Assemble special purpose machinery and sub‑assemblies to engineering drawings and specifications
• Fit mechanical components including bearings, gears, and taper lock pulleys
• Install pneumatic and hydraulic pipework as part of machine builds
• Carry out quality checks and maintain a safe, organised working environment

• Time‑served Mechanical Fitter or Engineer with a recognised mechanical qualification
• Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications
• Experience working with hand tools and power tools in an assembly environment
• Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics, with fabrication experience advantageous
• Competitive salary up to £35,000 to £38,000 depending on experience
