HGV Highways Operative – Tavistock

Our clients are looking for a Highways Operative to join their hardworking dedicated team in Tavistock.

• Work as part of a team undertaking Highways repairs, ranging from patching, resurfacing, potholes, drainage, footways and general highway maintenance.
• Use technology (tablets/apps) to input safety data and maintenance records.
• Drive/operate plant and equipment where trained, necessary for the day to day tasks set.
• Take responsibility for vehicles/plant/materials in your charge.
• Where appropriate provide direction/supervision of the work to less experienced operatives.

• Clean driving license.
• A commitment to health and safety.
• Good communication skills and basic literacy and numeracy.
• Ability to undertake a high level of manual work and work outdoors in all weathers.
• CSCS Card.

• Highways experience.
• HGV licence.
• New Roads and Street Works (NRSWA).
• Operative Accreditation Lantra 12d.
• Winter Works

• £13.00-£13.50 per hour depending upon experience.
• These will be PAYE positions so you will benefit from.
• Accrued Holiday Pay from day one.
• Pension contributions (after a qualifying period).
• Weekly Pay.
• No Umbrella payments or fees.
• Only Tax and National Insurance deductions and this will be shown on your payslip.
