Priory Riverview – Support Worker
Priory Riverview is looking to recruit a Support Worker to join their team. This is a full-time position (Full time – Evening and weekends included).
£13.20 per hour
Riverview is located in the picturesque seaside town of Teignmouth, Devon. Our home offers residential support for eight autistic individuals and is within a short walk of the local town and all amenities, right on the coast.
What you’ll be doingYou will be part of a compassionate team committed to the residents’ wellbeing, taking a personalised approach and using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future.
- Support with personal care tasks such as washing, dressing, eating and personal care.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as dusting, vacuuming and changing bed clothes.
- Assist with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of individuals.
- Assist and support attendance at medical appointments.
- Observe, monitor and record physical and emotional wellbeing, and quickly report any changes to senior staff.
- Support the development of important family connections and liaise with specialists, including Speech & Language Therapists and Learning Disability teams.
- Encourage participation in social and recreational activities that promote involvement and personal growth.

Qualifications and Skills- Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring nature.
- Empathy, understanding and patience.
- Ability to work on your own and as part of a team.
- Ability to understand and follow policies and procedure.
- Anticipate and respond to challenges.
- Competent in verbal and written English.
- A healthcare qualification is desirable, but not essential.
