The Opportunity

Regional Recruitment Services are recruiting on behalf of an industry-leading manufacturer for an Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer to join their R&D Development Team based in Telford.

This role supports the design and development of innovative electrical installation systems and offers the opportunity to work within a global R&D organisation, contributing to future-focused product and system designs.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop electro-mechanical systems and components from concept to production

Produce 3D CAD models, drawings and assemblies (Creo 7.0 or later preferred)

Apply Design for Excellence (DfX) principles

Support device and system integration

Design sheet metal and plastic parts for enclosures and electrical systems

Carry out calculations for current carrying capacity, thermal dissipation and short-circuit performance

Ensure compliance with IEC and British Standards (IEC 61439, IEC 62208)

Collaborate with global R&D, manufacturing and project teams

Manage multiple design projects while meeting quality and delivery targets

Skills & Experience Required

Experience in electro-mechanical or electrical design engineering

Strong understanding of DfX methodologies

Experience with system integration and device design

Knowledge of sheet metal and plastic design

Experience with enclosed electrical busbar systems

Understanding of thermal dissipation and short-circuit ratings

Knowledge of IEC and British Standards

Familiarity with manufacturing processes and project management

Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Creo preferred)
