Phlebotomist

Job Overview

We have available: 2 x 25 hours per week positions from 06:00 - 11:00 am Mon - Fri, and 1 x 28 hours per week position.

These are Trainee Phlebotomist posts. Full and extensive departmental training will be given to the successful candidate. Cross-site working will be expected at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford;
The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital;
Community Diagnostic Centre, Telford; and Whitchurch Community Hospital (working on wards and in the community).

We are recruiting for 2 part-time vacancies on a rota basis. The successful candidates should have excellent communication skills, be able to work under pressure, have an approachable nature, fulfil the travel requirements and record data accurately. Shift variations and flexibility are important.

• Collect blood samples by venepuncture from adults on wards who need to be discharged.
• Record and label samples accurately.
• Deliver samples to the laboratory by hand, via the hospital vacuum air tube system, portering staff or transport systems.

• Excellent communication skills.

We currently have 40 Phlebotomists working across 4 sites, providing a safe booking appointment system at PRH, RSH, CDC, and Whitchurch Community Hospital.
