Business Analyst - SAS

Whitehall Resources currently require an experienced Business Analyst to work with a key client.

Please note this role requires SC Clearance and will be Inside IR35.

To act as the key liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams during the migration of SAS estate (including SAS 9.4 and Viya 3.5 components) to SAS Viya 4 on DPS AWS. The role ensures requirements are captured, validated, and translated into actionable deliverables, supporting a smooth transition with minimal disruption to business operations.

• Requirements Gathering & Analysis
• Engage with business areas to capture functional and non-functional requirements for migration.
• Document current-state processes and define future-state requirements aligned with SAS Viya 4 capabilities.

• Analyse dependencies between legacy SAS services and downstream systems.
• Identify risks and constraints related to data flows, scheduling, and business processes.

• Produce detailed process maps, user stories, and acceptance criteria for migration activities.
• Maintain traceability between requirements and technical deliverables.

• Act as the primary point of contact for business teams, ensuring clear communication of migration plans and timelines.
• Facilitate workshops and walkthroughs to validate requirements and design decisions.

• Collaborate with Test Manager to define UAT scope and ensure business sign-off.
• Support defect triage and resolution from a business perspective.

• Assist in preparing documentation for approvals (SRA, BIA, DPIA, GDPR compliance).

• Business analysis within large-scale data or analytics platform migrations.
• Requirements elicitation and stakeholder management in complex environments.
• Knowledge of SAS technologies (SAS 9.4, SAS Viya 3.x /
  4) and analytical workflows, data governance, compliance, and security frameworks.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery and tools (Jira, Confluence).

• IIBA or BCS Business Analysis certification.
• Experience in government or regulated environments.
• Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS) and Dev Ops principles.
