Contract:

Bank. Working pattern:
Part‑time, flexible.

Hours available: 6am‑8pm, Monday‑Friday.

Provide a full range of housekeeping duties on wards and in staff/service‑user areas, maintaining high standards and following procedures and schedules.

• Maintain cleaning standards following correct procedures and frequencies.
• Undertake a variety of cleaning duties in line with ward/area/location cleaning schedules.
• Operate mechanical cleaning equipment.
• Replenish disposables and consumables.
• Safely store cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Carry out specialist and one‑off cleaning duties per supervisor’s requirements.
• Assist with laundry duties as required.
• Support the supervisor day‑to‑day.
• Induct and train new employees.
• Comment on housekeeping policies and procedures.
• Work as part of a housekeeping team, assisting with training and guidance.
• Complete own timesheets.
• Respond to tasks that may arise in emergencies or staff shortages.
• Flexible working within a team.
• Monitor and maintain stock levels, keeping appropriate records.
• Take part in cleanliness audits and follow up actions.
• Take personal duty of care for equipment used.
• Report misuse or faulty equipment.
• Open and lock buildings, set alarms to secure premises after hours.

• Previous housekeeping/cleaning experience.
• Basic knowledge of chemicals and cleaning products.
• Experience planning and performing cleaning tasks following schedules.
• Ability to use mechanical cleaning equipment.
• Strong personal conduct, positive attitude and teamwork.

• Previous NHS experience.
• Broad knowledge of specialist cleaning techniques and equipment.
