We have an exciting opportunity for two Senior Operator roles supervising a busy Warehousing environment at our client's site in central Telford.

To support the safe and efficient operation of the warehouse by coordinating daily warehouse activities, guiding team members, and ensuring all goods are received, stored, picked and dispatched in line with SEQCD, Health & Safety, 5S and IMS standards.

The Senior Warehouse Operator will act as a role model on shift, providing operational support to the Team Leader/Shift Supervisor, maintaining performance standards, and contributing to continuous improvement across warehouse operations.

Main tasks include

· To coordinate day-to-day warehouse activities to achieve SEQCD targets, ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety regulations, safe systems of work, and high standards of 5S and housekeeping.

· Take responsibility for the accurate handling, storage and movement of goods throughout the warehouse, liaising with production as applicable.

· To conduct stock checks for warehouse and line-side stock as required, accurately record results, resolve discrepancies, and support investigations. Generate daily pick lists, complete system transactions, and ensure all warehouse documentation is accurate and compliant with company procedures.

· To minimise production and despatch disruption through rapid action and where appropriate, escalation to relevant personnel e.g. SCM, Operations etc. To instigate data collection and provide analysis to identify top issues and drive improvement.

· To provide comprehensive and clear reporting on key issues enabling root cause analysis, escalating to key stakeholders as appropriate.

· To provide hands-on operational cover as required, including undertaking core warehouse operator duties such as goods receipt, picking, packing, loading and dispatch. Stand in for operators when manpower levels require, ensuring continuity of operations.

N.B. the proportion of time indicated is an average only and will vary (up and down) depending on production volumes/seasonal trends.

· To engage in and support continuous improvement activities, including supporting Warehouse Operators, to improve SEQCD performance results. To share knowledge across teams. To suggest improvements to training materials/standards.

· Support the implementation of Health & Safety, IMS procedures and best practice initiatives on shift.

· To support the training and development of new and existing warehouse team members, leading by example and reinforcing standard operating procedures. Provide guidance and feedback to maintain performance, quality and safety standards.

· To provide cover for Team Leaders (non-management tasks/issues) including manpower allocation, distribution, and rotation when necessary. Deliver shift briefs/communications to teams as required. Provide updated information to make informed decisions about production.

The right candiate will

Required to take rapid action to limit SEQCD performance issues.
Required to meet daily operational targets while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Required to respond quickly to operational issues such as shortages, delivery changes or system problems.

Required to provide operational support in the absence of the Team Leader (non‑management tasks only).
