Youth Mentor & Development Facilitator - East London

Our client, an organisation dedicated to empowering young people through skills development and mentorship, is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Youth Mentor & Development Facilitator for their program in East London, Eastern Cape . This role involves guiding and supporting youth participants in developing essential life skills, career readiness, and personal growth. You will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging workshops, providing individualised mentorship, and fostering a positive and productive learning environment.

The ideal candidate is passionate about youth development, possesses excellent facilitation skills, and has a good understanding of the challenges faced by young people in East London . • Design and deliver interactive workshops on topics such as life skills, career exploration, CV writing, interview skills, and financial literacy.
• Provide one-on-one mentorship to youth participants, offering guidance and support for their personal and professional development.
• Facilitate group discussions and activities to encourage peer learning and collaboration.
• Assess participants' needs and tailor development plans accordingly.
• Monitor participant progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Connect youth with relevant opportunities, such as internships, job placements, or further education.
• Maintain accurate records of participant engagement, progress, and outcomes.
• Collaborate with program managers and other stakeholders to ensure program effectiveness.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment for all participants in East London .
• Stay updated on youth development trends and best practices.

• A relevant qualification in Youth Development, Education, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
• Proven experience (2+ years) in youth work, facilitation, mentoring, or training, preferably in East London .
• Demonstrated ability to design and deliver engaging training sessions and workshops.
• Strong understanding of youth development principles and challenges facing young people.
• Excellent communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to inspire, motivate, and build rapport with young individuals.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience in career counselling or job readiness training is an advantage.
• Commitment to empowering youth and contributing to positive social impact in the Eastern Cape .
