Bilingual Project Manager– Manufacturing, Automation, R&D
Job Description:
Planiform, a leader in automated conveyor systems, is looking for a full-time R&D Project Manager / Product Manager to join our Terrebonne, QC team!
This role is designed for innovative project leaders who are passionate about turning cutting-edge technologies into market-ready products. You’ll manage product development from concept to deployment, bridging technical teams and business objectives to deliver advanced solutions to global clients.
Key Responsibilities:- Project Leadership:
Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of advanced robotic and automation projects for international clients. - Product Development:
Manage end‑to‑end development cycles, integrating AI‑driven robotics and automation technologies. - Agile Practices:
Apply Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban), including sprint planning, stand‑ups, and iterative development. - Team
Collaboration:
Work closely with engineering, robotics, and software teams to design, prototype, test, and refine solutions. - Cross‑Functional Coordination:
Resolve technical challenges and maintain momentum in a fast‑paced R&D environment. - Project Performance:
Ensure scope, budget, and timelines are met while adapting to evolving priorities and advancements. - Stakeholder Communication:
Maintain proactive communication to align technical teams with business objectives. - Innovation Culture:
Foster problem‑solving, innovation, and continuous improvement across the project team.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering
- 10+ years of hands‑on experience in robotic system development (mobile platforms or manipulators)
- Strong practical knowledge of Embedded microcontrollers
- Strong practical knowledge of Motor control (servo, BLDC, stepper) and real‑time IO interfacing
- Strong practical knowledge of Robotic arms, grippers, and tooling integration
- Practical knowledge of ROS or ROS2 middleware and Linux environments
- Practical knowledge of AI vision pipelines using Jetson platforms
- Practical knowledge of PLC programming and interfacing robotic subsystems with industrial control platforms
- Strong debugging, integration, and cross‑functional problem‑solving skills
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Software, or related field).
- Minimum 7 years of experience in project management within robotics, automation, or high‑tech product development.
- Strong technical understanding of robotics and automation systems.
- Proven track record of managing product development from concept through to launch.
- Hands‑on experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
- Ability to travel internationally without restrictions.
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or Product Management.
- PMP certification or equivalent.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering and R&D teams.
- Excellent problem‑solving, decision‑making, and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of French (spoken and/or written) is an asset.
