Material Review Board Stress Engineer

Dowty (a GE Aerospace company) is a world‑leading manufacturer of integrated propeller systems, with products used in regional and military aircraft, and marine hovercrafts. Due to continued growth, we are hiring a permanent Material Review Board (MRB) Stress Engineer to join our analysis engineers onsite at our cutting‑edge manufacturing site in Brockworth, Gloucestershire.

• Review manufacturing non‑conformances, assess structural impacts, and provide justification and technical dispositions.
• Work towards achieving concessions approval for composite blades and metallic components for production and in‑service propellers.
• Liaise with Design, Stress, Airworthiness, NDT and Operations to coordinate daily MRB throughput.
• Support root cause analysis to identify manufacturing issues contributing to non‑conformances.
• Monitor and facilitate quarantine blade reviews to reduce blade quarantine numbers.
• Support selection of test blades used to justify acceptance criteria.
• Comply with industry and company standards, regulations and qualification requirements.

• Experience with composite and/or metallic components within the aerospace industry.
• Proficiency in static and fatigue stress analysis using hand calculations and finite element methods.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and repair methods for composite components.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
• Minimum HND in a relevant engineering subject.

• Previous experience with dispositioning or approving concessions.
• Understanding of structural tests used in propeller blade certification.
• Knowledge of aerospace certification and airworthiness requirements.
