Engineering Shift Team Leader

This Major UK brand has become a dominant player in the FMCG market sector. With operations throughout the country, they developed an exceptional reputation for the quality and manufacture of their products. The site in Norfolk is one their most established sites and has been a leader within the business. For them to the continue on this success there is a need to recruit an Engineering Shift Team Leader to the already successful team.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide effective leadership, coaching, and development to the wider engineering team, including apprentice mentoring.

* Manage and control contractors and maintenance suppliers, ensuring performance is reviewed and standards are met.

* Support and deliver the Maintenance Excellence roadmap and site improvement plans.

* Ensure adherence to planned maintenance schedules through effective resource planning.

* Maintain adequate plant cover to meet operational requirements.

* Analyse CMMS data to support forward planning and identify opportunities for equipment and process improvement.

* Fully support end-to-end Planned Maintenance Systems (PMS).

* Review maintenance activities to identify and implement cost-effective improvements.

* Lead and support Root Cause Analysis (RCA), 5 Why, and structured problem-solving techniques.

* Support and promote the site and departmental 5S programme.

* Develop and implement maintenance improvement techniques and best practices.

* Drive and support Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) and FMECA activities.

* Liaise with OEMs, specialist machinery manufacturers, and component suppliers to promote standardisation, improvement, and cost-reduction opportunities.

* Manage the Engineering function during weekends, including coordination of contractors for planned works.

* Assist and support the Head of Engineering with ad hoc duties as required

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

* Previous experience working within an FMCG Food Manufacturing environment.

* Proven management or supervisory experience, leading a team of up to 6 engineers/technicians.

* Completed a recognised Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels across the business.

* Strong ability to prioritise workload, manage competing demands, and perform effectively under pressure.

* Thorough understanding of Health & Safety legislation, standards, and best practices within a manufacturing environment.

* Strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills.

* Proactive, hands-on leadership approach with a focus on continuous improvement
