Purchasing Administrator – Manufacturing – North Yorkshire

Systems Inc is looking for an experienced Purchasing Administrator. The business plays a key part in driving health and sustainability throughout the global food chain. They have a brilliant reputation, they're forward‑thinking and put their people at the heart.

Based in: Thirsk

Salary: Up to £32,000

Contract: 40 hour per week

Responsibilities
  • Manage purchasing and ordering of packaging, raw materials, and consumables
  • Handle supplier invoice queries and maintain accurate purchase documentation
  • Process order acknowledgements, delivery notes, and purchase orders
  • Arrange delivery and handling of raw materials, including export documentation
  • Support stock control processes, including assisting with stock takes and reconciliation
  • Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers
  • Maintain and update the approved supplier list
  • Book in/out raw materials, packaging, and finished goods
  • Support the Head of Nutrition/Buying with ad‑hoc purchasing and admin tasks
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar purchasing or administrative role
  • Strong IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Proactive approach, with a drive to improve processes and deliver results
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a customer‑focused attitude
