Job Overview

St Martins Care are recruiting for a Registered Nurse to work at their busy Nursing and Residential Care Home. Role-specific Duties

  • Ensure residents are at the heart of the care delivery and their wishes and preferences enhance their wellbeing.
  • Provide nursing care in accordance with current best practice, policy and procedures, agreed standards, legislative requirements, and relevant regulations under the direction of the Manager.
  • Undertake all aspects of medicine management in line with legal, professional, and regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise staff and ensure that all staff contribute to the efficient running of the service.
  • Work within the NMC Code of Conduct.
  • Be responsible for promoting and protecting the welfare of those individuals supported by the service.

Working With Others

  • Develop effective working relationships with colleagues within the service.
  • Work in cooperation with members of multidisciplinary teams to maximise opportunities for residents.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with residents' loved ones.

Leading By Example

  • Seek opportunities for personal and professional growth.

  • Be professional, polite, and reasonable at all times.

Personal and Professional Development

  • Have knowledge of, and work within, the Fundamental Standards.
  • Be registered with the NMC and work within the Code of Conduct.
  • Comply with NMC revalidation every three years.
  • Understand the regulatory framework governing the service, including CQC requirements.
  • Commit to achieving relevant qualifications commensurate with the role.
  • Attend statutory and other training as directed by management.

Essential Criteria

  • Qualifications
    • Registered Nurse Qualification.
    • Registered with a relevant body, e.g., NMC.
    • Good English (written and verbal).
  • Skills
    • Maintain care plans/care records in accordance with the service’s policy.
    • Communication skills to build rapport with residents.
    • Problem‑solving skills to adapt to situations quickly.
    • Assist residents with daily tasks following their care plan.
    • Supervise staff providing residents with support/assistance.
    • Provide nursing care in accordance with current best practice.
    • Undertake all aspects of medicine management in line with legal, professional, and regulatory requirements.
  • Previous Experience
    • Previous experience of working in a similar environment.
