We are seeking compassionate and reliable Support Workers to join our team in a supported living setting in Thornbury
, providing high-quality, person-centred support to adults with a range of health and support needs
.
The individuals you will support may have learning disabilities, Down syndrome, epilepsy, type 2 diabetes, and hearing impairments
. This role is suited to someone who is patient, attentive, and committed to promoting independence and wellbeing.
As a Support Worker, your duties will include:
Providing person-centred support
, respecting each individual’s independence, choices, and boundariesCommunicating clearly and patiently, adapting communication to meet individual needs
Supporting adults with daily living routines
, including medication administration and making healthy meal choicesEncouraging and assisting with household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation, promoting independence wherever possible
Monitoring and supporting diabetes and epilepsy
, following care plans and risk assessmentsEncouraging social engagement and participation in community activities
Remaining calm and supportive during times of distress, giving space when required and using reassurance and positive reinforcement
Maintaining accurate records and working collaboratively with the wider care and management team
24-hour shifts
, starting at 10:30am and finishing at 10:30am the following daySleep-in period from 11:00pm–7:00am
, paid at waking night rateWeekend availability is essential
Starting from £12.21 per hour
Pay increases in line with experience and relevant qualifications (Level 2 / Level
3)£0.50 per hour enhancement for weekend hours
Full UK driving licence essential
Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities, diabetes, epilepsy, or hearing impairments is desirable but not essential
Applicants with no previous experience are welcome
Full training and ongoing support provided
