As a Social Care Worker your main job is to help older people living in the care home. This post is responsible for leading a team to support vulnerable adults within a residential setting.
You must have the ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative, follow instructions, and possess good communication skills. You must be able to respond constructively to unpredictable situations and cope under pressure. You must hold a minimum of SVQ level 2 in Social Care or equivalent (minimum required for registration with SSSC), a commitment to achieve SVQ 3 on Social Care.
MainDuties
- To administer medication as prescribed.
- Able to take responsibility as a key worker
- To support reablement plans for service users
- To contribute to the planning, monitoring and recording of service delivery.
- Ability to act as shift lead, with temporary overall responsibility of the care home
This is a part-time permanent post of 17.3 hours per week to be worked in accordance with service requirements, for overnight care and support.

Additional Information for Candidates- Effective from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours. Part‑time hours will be adjusted on a pro‑rated basis. There will be an increase in the hourly rate to ensure that pay remains unaffected.
